Homeschooling

Homeschooling is an alternative to modern school systems that many people are using in the present, having its roots many decades in the past. Also called home based education or learning this method of teaching is applied in different areas of the world for reasons that vary from religious beliefs, particular parenting, convenience or others.

Homeschooling can be done either by the parents of a child, by relatives or by tutors. Some of the most important reasons why parents decide on home school for their children instead of a public or private school system can differ from family to family, but each one has a few reasons to do so. Some do not trust the school system to provide an adequate education for a child, as the quality of the school and professors play a key part in the development of a young mind.

Other reasons for homeschooling include the environment that can be offered at home or within the family, as opposed to a traditional school environment where various social and cultural factors can hinder the learning process. There are both advantages of home schooling as well as disadvantages. The main disadvantage of homeschooling is that a child cannot always adapt in society as school going children without being subjected to a daily socializing environment.

However the best points to this method of teaching is that those who live in isolated areas can benefit from an education; the same case applies to children with disabilities or those whose families travel a lot and cannot stay long enough in the same place to enroll in the public education system. Some even see homeschooling as a better method of teaching the child many things from different aspects of life, while keeping a homeschooling curriculum to match both social expectations but the child’s preferences as well.
